Golden Sourdough Ham & Gruyère Toastie with Parmesan & Chives

Thick-cut sourdough toasted until golden and filled with leg ham, mustard and melting Gruyère - finished with a sprinkle of parmesan and fresh Windy Hills chives. Crispy, cheesy comfort at its best.

Shopping List

Small handful Fresh Chives, finely sliced

Pantry CHECK

4 slices Thick-Cut Sourdough Bread

4 slices Leg Ham

120g Gruyère Cheese, grated or sliced

1 tbsp Dijon Mustard

20g Parmesan, finely grated

2 tbsp Butter

METHOD

  1. Build the toastie
    Spread mustard on the inside of the sourdough slices. Layer with leg ham and Gruyère cheese.

  2. Butter the bread
    Lightly butter the outside of each slice for that golden, crispy crust.

  3. Toast
    Heat a frypan over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted.

  4. Finish
    Remove from the pan and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan and sliced chives while still hot.

  5. Serve
    Slice in half and serve immediately while warm and gooey.
